If your chessboard doesn't butt up against a wall, we recommend the optional edge ramps with the corner pieces that slope gently up from the floor to meet the top of the chess board, and thus reduce the trip hazard. A set comes with enough to go all the way around this MegaChess board (32 edge pieces + 4 corner pieces).
