Although we have cured the teak for a year before carving, it will continue to cure in your first year of ownership. While curing, you must protect the set from direct sun when not in use. During the first year, the set can not be left out in the sun all day, even if it is in use. By immediately repairing any nicks or cracks, your set will age beautifully.

Although we have many corporate customers, teak sets require special care. During the first year, the sets can be in the sun periodically but not all day. This can challenge corporate customers like resorts, shopping malls, and other commercial uses. Like all wood products, your chess set must be cared for to last. Periodic maintenance of the set is required.

Great question. While the specific size set is unique to your needs, here is a general guideline:

  • 8 inch sets are tabletop sets.
  • 12-16 inch sets fit patios and tight areas.
  • 25–37 inch sets fit most yards.
  • 49 inch sets are statement pieces.

If you are unsure, 25 inch is the safest pick for homeowners.
