Buy With Confidence

Planning a giant game area can feel overwhelming, but you shouldn’t have to worry about wasted space or choosing the wrong materials. With 14+ years of experience and over 15,000 clients helped, we understand the common pitfalls and how to avoid them. We provide the expert guidance you need to navigate every detail with ease. Let’s work together to design a destination your guests will love—and one that stands the test of time.

We design and build our plastic sets in six sizes, from an 8 inch tabletop set to a 49 inch statement piece, using sustainable, recycled HDPE engineered for daily outdoor wear. We back every plastic set with US Child Safety Testing, individual replacement pieces, and logo or LED customization options you won't find at general game retailers. Because we specialize only in giant chess, our plastic collection is priced to be the most accessible entry point into giant chess without cutting corners on durability.

Plastic Giant Chess Sets

You're looking at our Durable & Affordable line. Made from sustainable, recycled HDPE, these sets are virtually indestructible; engineered to survive everything from school playgrounds to extreme mountain climates. They're the best choice for high-traffic, maintenance-free fun at an accessible price.

If you're after a more refined look for a resort, estate, or corporate space, our Perfect sets are cast from hand-carved teak molds for a heavier, "stone-edition" finish.

Yes! Plastic sets can be engraved or printed with your logo or slogan, and you can add LED light cartridges in 7 colors for nighttime play. We offer a free design review where we look at your space, budget, and intended use to recommend the right size and add-ons for your plastic set.

What size Giant Chess Set should I buy?

Great question. Plastic sets come in six sizes, so here's a general guideline:

  • 8-inch sets are tabletop sets.
  • 12–16 inch sets fit patios and tight areas.
  • 25–37 inch sets fit most yards.
  • 49-inch sets are statement pieces.

If you're unsure, 25-inch is the safest pick for homeowners; it's large enough to make an impact without being difficult to store or move. Boards are sold separately, so match your board's square size to the king height you choose.

Feel free to reach out to us by phone, email, or chat with any questions about our plastic sets. We're happy to help!

Absolutely. Plastic is our most popular material for schools and playgrounds specifically because it's lightweight and easy for kids to move safely on their own. Our plastic chess sets, checkers, and chessboards have passed rigorous US Child Safety Testing designed to keep children safe. Our plastic is non-toxic with rounded edges, and each piece has a hollow base you can fill with sand for extra stability against wind and the "enthusiastic" play styles of a busy playground.

Don't let one missing piece ruin the whole game. We carry individual replacement pieces for every plastic set we sell, so your game stays complete without buying a whole new one.

Looking for a giant chess piece as decor or as a prop? We sell more than 230 individual giant chess pieces, all made from the same lightweight plastic.

Maintenance should be the last thing on your mind. Because our plastic is non-porous and UV-stabilized, a simple rinse with a garden hose or a quick wipe with a damp cloth is all it takes to keep your set looking brand new; no sealing, staining, or seasonal upkeep required.

Shipping

We let you know when your package will arrive before you buy; just below the add-to-cart button on each product page, you'll find the estimated delivery date.

Because plastic sets are lighter than our other lines, most orders ship the same day or the next day and arrive by FedEx Ground in one to four days anywhere in the continental US. Custom items (logo or LED) generally arrive within 14 days.

We do! We ship plastic sets worldwide. To receive a quote, email us at info@megachess.com with:

  • Which plastic set you're considering
  • Your exact shipping address

Once we have that information, we'll send you a quote and answer any questions you have.
