This MegaChess set is a light but rugged, injection molded plastic set suitable for kids. Although grown-ups will want to put this impressive MegaChess set on a tabletop, kids prefer the floor.

The optimum chessboard size for this MegaChess set uses 6" squares, although a board of 8" squares works fine, too. You can squash them onto a board with 4" squares, but it looks awkward. A great fit is the plastic chessboard from the same manufacturer.
