Rubberized vinyl is the heavy-duty flooring at public gyms. This can stand up to any abuse your chess players can dish out.

This chessboard comes with 32 black squares and 32 white squares, each 12 inches across, ½ inch high, and weighing 1 lb. Total weight = 64 lbs.

The tiles clip together easily, and because it is flexible without being flimsy (see at left), you can roll it up for quick storage.
