The tiles connect together using a button and loop mechanism. Best is to assemble the chessboard upside down so you can see the loop glide down around the button. You can do it with your fingers, but we recommend tapping with a hammer instead.

Ideal for a hard flat surface like concrete or asphalt, but can be used over short-cut lawns.
To reduce the tripping hazard, we recommend a set of perimeter edge ramps going all the way around the chessboard.

For a chessboard border or an integrated section to place taken pieces, order a third half-chessboard of tiles.
