Because the design of the pieces is common to our
teak set, you can even mix and match with those.
Tip: Keep the beauty of teak's grain for one side and get the faux rock
(granite, marble, etc.) for the other. |
- Who paints these?
- We began our faux finishing efforts under the wings of
renowned experts like Roger Merrill and Maria Radnoti. We have transitioned to
the craft support program of United Community Outreach, a local ministry for
recovering alcoholics and drug addicts. Under the guidance of Maria and Roger,
the disciples (yea, that's how they're called) regain some of their
self-respect and self-worth by creating things of beauty with their own
hands.
- Are you a budding
artist?
- Buy some Unfinished plaster
pieces, do your best and we'll try to feature them on MegaChess.com.
- Do you have an idea for a finish you don't
see?
- Ask the Expert about it and
we'll go through our network of artisans to see who would be best at producing
it.
To reduce their weight, all plaster pieces are hollow,
but thick enough not to be fragile. Like all plaster, however, they will break
if you drop them on a hard floor.
Note that plaster MegaChess
sets are sold one side (of 16 pieces) at a time. This allows you to mix and
match the decor of the light and dark sides in combinations of your own
choosing.
