Metal coating is the answer. This is not a paint. It is a layer of actual brass, bronze, or pewter metal that coats a plaster foundation. We use a proprietary technique popular to coat snow boards, providing the superior adhesion that works even in that environment.

If you want to add to the weight of a metal coated MegaChess piece, to make them feel more like metal, you can unscrew the bottom plate and fill the inside with sand. Depending on how much sand you add, this can triple the weight of the piece.
