Qty is the total quantity per piece, black and white. Each chess set ships with the regulation 32 pieces.

Width is the diameter of the base, and Height is the distance from the base to the highest part of the piece, each measured in inches. Weight is the weight of each single piece. Everything is accurate to ±15%. The total weight is for all 32 chess pieces, not including shipping materials.

Note that although a coconut tree looks like a palm tree, they are unrelated. A palm tree is actually related to grasses and has a fibrous trunk, whereas coconut wood is a hardwood.

MegaChess has chessboards with 6-inch squares made from many different materials.

When planning a playing area, consider the minimum size of the square of a chessboard as the diameter of the base of the king (5½ inches). The common standard for tile that size is a 6" square, yielding a chessboard 4 feet on each side.
